![]() Because nothing says fun like tapping a little snow mound and having the car literally fly across the track like you ran it over a landmine. Stage design is mostly awesome with the exception of some small stuff like what are apparently bricks painted white and masquerading as snow banks in Monte Carlo. (Probably 5-10, but it's not easy to check on a different computer with the Epic Launcher compared to Steam.) So, started over as a new character in WRC Junior, going to try and win the season, and see how it plays out with transferring to the higher tier. in Rally Sweden beyond any chance to recover (exited the game and got a 30 min fine ((( ). I started a new season in WRC Junior (continued my play), but failed one s.s. I wonder if console controllers have a more natural feel.īack to WRC8. Had I had some money I didn't know what to spend on and some space to store it, I'd get a gaming wheel.Īnd were I sure my wife wouldn't chew on me for buying a "useless plaything" Same with turns - you have to tap on a key to make a gentle turn = feels unnatural. ![]() In hardcore racing simulators particularly this manifests in the fact that when you press, say, the throttle button (the up key :)), your torque surges which causes wheels to lock/skid. You wouldn't argue that the use of a keyboard to control a vehicle is unnatural (though I, and you, as it figures ), use it). Nothing is wrong with the keys except for the fact that the wheel is designed to simulate real steering wheel w/pedals, etc. Thank you for taking time to read my views on WRC 8. ![]() It is a huge upgrage from WRC 7 for anyone wondering. Though I still find DR 2.0 to be more enjoyable. These are some instances of what I've experienced from trying out WRC 8, it has promise. The weight momentum is still a meh ( car feels a bit too light and almost cannot carry momentum through a corner and can flip easily even after hitting a small bank) ![]() Is a mix bag, it feels a bit too grippy even on loose gravel ( driving fast but takes a short time too brake). I've tried hitting the water splash at high speed and then proceed to experiment with low speed and I'm surprised that both of the sound produce is the same ( almost like a repeated audio track for every puddle) The sound of hitting a water splash sounds so fake. I've had hopes in terms of sound immersion ( as people from WRC 7 keep telling people that WRC have good sound immersion) Which is expected when you have an official licence. Game also suffered from sudden frame drops once in a while ( crashed a few times because of this).īut I do applaud WRC 8 in terms of overall content and track design though. ![]() The game feels reminiscent of DR 1 where even small bumps would send you flying and there's almost no feeling of suspension travel when going through bumps. Unlike DR 2.0 where you can see gradual wheel turn. PS, anyone playing with a controller wouldn't like the image of the driver hand stuttering at the steering wheel. The graphic difference between them is shocking ( hood view has better graphics while cockpit view, everything is washed out and the track details decreases in cockpit view. Overall, the game still feels a bit unpolished, for example the cockpit view and the hood view. ![]()
